You see, Barrett, my spirited 4-year-old, already fancied himself a bit of a pirate even before his transformation. With his pirate outfit his Lolly gifted him for Christmas, he thought he was ready to take on the high seas. Little did he know, a grander transformation awaited him on the Disney Wish's Pirate Night at the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique (BBB).
Now, we didn't opt for the full pirate ensemble since Captain Barrett had his own pirate garb. Instead, we snagged the Swashbuckle Package for $99.95, which included pirate makeup, a Mickey-head vest, a swashbuckling belt, shoulder parrot, eye patch, sword and a bandana that would make Jack Sparrow himself green with envy. Arr matey, he was one stylish buccaneer!
The other packages available are the full pirate costume - which is only available in youth sizes. That package is $199.99 and includes your choice of pirate costume, a treasure chest cinch pouch, stylish coin necklace, telescope, shoulder parrot, pirate makeup, bandana, eye patch and sword. There is also a basic Pirate Makeup and Accessories package for $59.99. That includes makeup application, treasure chest cinch bag, coin necklace, bandana, eye patch and sword.
The BBB transforms into doing pirate transformations on that sailings pirate night. We didn’t know what to expect going in and Barrett couldn't have been more thrilled with the entire experience. The talented crew at the boutique worked their magic, turning my little landlubber into a bona fide seafaring scamp. From the very beginning, Ani - our stylist, made the experience one to remember. She deems him Nathanial Cannonshawl based on a dice roll. We then set forth on an adventure to remember.
As Barrett donned his pirate regalia, he strutted around the ship with an air of newfound confidence. His eyes gleamed with excitement, and I could hear him giving his best pirate growls at the photographer. It was a sight to behold – a pint-sized pirate ready to take on the seven seas, or at least the kiddie pool on the ship.
What makes this pirate makeover extra special is that it's not just for the littlest buccaneers. The pirate night experience caters to all ages, unlike the traditional BBB transformations being limited to ages 3-12, so even if you're a grown-up yearning for a touch of pirate flair, you can join in the swashbuckling fun.
There are several themed backdrops in the Grand Hall with photographs at dinner time until 10:15. We took full advantage of everyone dressed up and snagged some pictures of our pirate crew. The kids both opted to go to the Oceaneer’s Club instead of attending the Pirate Parlay Party on the pool deck. As the sun dipped below the horizon, we embarked on Pirate Night – a spectacle filled with fireworks, pirate-themed shows, and a sea of fellow buccaneers. Since it was only adults attending from our party, we decided to go up to the Adults Only deck overlooking the party. We enjoyed the spirited 80s music from a relaxing lounge chair while the crowds of kids gathered on lower decks.
